Christofer joined Applied Underwriters, from which United Risk separated in April, in 2020 as a managing director. He previously held roles at Rivington Partners, AIG, Guy Carpenter and Gen Re.

In his new role, New York-based Christofer is responsible for the recruitment and acquisition of new underwriting programs along with the oversight of its existing programs.

Additionally, the company has also announced that Dónal Corcoran has been promoted to head of international business development for United Risk.

Alongside the new roles for Christofer and Corcoran, a host of new appointments have also been made Applied Financial Lines, Applied Surety Underwriters, Applied Underwriters Aviation and Rivington Environmental.

Omaha, Nebraska-based Applied Underwriters launched United Risk in November 2023, and the MGU currently operates 37 underwriting programs from more than 50 offices across the globe.

By being spun off into a standalone entity, United Risk is now one of the five largest MGA platforms in the world, according to Applied Underwriters president Jamie Sahara.
